1. Pár mondatban írd le, hogy mivel foglalkozol!
Describe
what you are doing!
I create jewellery, mostly from polymer clay, but I also
make more complex pieces from beads, Swarovski crystals and minerals. The
former are simpler and more affordable, the latter take more time to create and
are more costly due to the higher price of the material, however, they are unique,
everlasting pieces of jewellery.
2. Miért pont ezt az anyagot választottad?
A
Why did
you choose this material in particular?
I love beads and other crystals because of their
sparkliness, various shapes and extraordinary colours. You can almost paint
with them, and you can make very complex jewellery from them. Polymer clay is
my favourite since I was in high school, it is easy to work with, can be found
in beautiful colours and can be used in a variety of ways.
3. Mikor fedezted fel magadban a fogékonyságot,
tehetséget?
Gyerekkorom
voltunk.
When did
you realise you have talent?
I have been meddling with different kinds of
materials ever since I was a child, both my parents are creative and this is a
natural habitat for me. Our house was always full of DIY stuff, primarily out
of necessity, but it stayed with us even later, when better times came.
4. Hobbi vagy vállalkozás?

Hobby or
main source of income?
It is more than a mere hobby, I am making jewellery
as a part-time entrepreneur. I love my main job, so I don’t want to give it up
just as yet, and it is not easy to get a company going. It’s a very good thing
when a person can do what they want for living, but I think the joy of creating
would be lost in the whirl of everyday worries. But if I were ever to lose my
main job, I could stand on my own feet.
5. Hol lehet vásárolni Tőled, személyesen találkozni?

Where can
people find your jewellery, order it, or even meet you in person?
The easiest way is to order from me on MESKA (www.meska.hu/moonsafari) or via Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/moonsafaribeads). I am also available via my blog (http://moonsafaribeads.blogspot.hu/) or email. I hand over my jewellery personally
in Szeged, but unfortunately you can’t meet me in person otherwise (e.g. I don’t
go to fairs) due to serious lack of time.
6. Honnan merítesz ötleteket, inspirációt?

Where do
you get ideas, inspiration from?
The materials inspire me themselves, somehow they
shape themselves. I like Indian, Turkish and Morroccon forms, patterns and
colours, I often browse books and webpages with these themes. Sometimes I see a
piece of jewellery on somebody that I redefine in beads, but I have made
jewellery under the influence of a piece of clothing, a photo, a movie or a
decorative item, too. As a matter of fact, anything can be an inspiration.

Do you
get feedback from your customers?
My customers rarely send me photos, but luckily I
often get feedback about how they love the piece of jewellery they bought from
me. It always feels good when somebody says they saw something I made and
decided they need something similar. Many times it is men who buy presents for
their ladies, and they usually write back to say she loved it.
8. Mi a marketing stratégiád?

What is
your marketing strategy?
I don’t have a particular marketing strategy, mainly
due to lack of time, my Facebook page is also a bit quiet because of this. I am
trying to make unique and everlasting jewellery and I also pay special
attention to the relationship with my customers as I consider it very important
that they are fully satisfied with their purchase. I often give discounts or
send smaller presents to accompany the bought item. Return customers also get a
discount.
9. Hogy néz ki egy munkanapod? Mikor dolgozol?
kordában tartani a terjeszkedésüket.
What does
your working day look like?

For the time being, I made a little workspace in the
corner of the living room, but the materials somehow overwhelm the whole
apartment, it is difficult to keep them in place.
mintát, ilyenkor tervet is készítek.
A gyurmaékszerekhez sok időt töltök a különleges minták keresésével

What does
a work process look like?
I order materials on the Internet, because it is
cheaper, there is a wider range of products and I can get some really
extraordinary things this way. If the jewellery is made to order, I always
discuss the colours and material with the customer, we create the pattern
together and I make a draft. When the idea is mine only, I don’t make a draft,
it is all in my head and I enjoy the process of creating the jewellery while
working on it. Bead woven jewellery takes several hours, a bracelet takes 12-15
hours on average, but a necklace may take few weeks even. When making polymer
clay jewellery, I spend a lot of time searching for extraordinary patterns, but
I also like experimenting with new techniques. After shaping and colouring, I
bake it, varnish it (several layers) and then put the jewellery together.
I make a photo of the piece if I manage to get a
sunny morning. After that I edit the photos, post them to Meska, my blog and my
Facebook page. I check the items before posting them and put them in a gift bag,
wrapped up do that they don’t get damaged.
11. Mik a terveid a jövőre nézve?

What are
your plans for the future?
Until I finish university I am trying to balance work, school, jewellery
making and private life. I don’t have any particular plans, I like what I am
doing. I would like to move to a bigger flat some day in order to have a
separate workshop, where I wouldn’t have a constant guilty feeling because of
all the mess. In a house I could even be able to try out different techniques,
since a flat is not suitable for that due to all the dangerous chemicals and the
several hundred degrees oven. And of course a small family would fit in better
in a house...
gyönyörűek és nagyon egyediek Ági ékszerei!
