GlooGlooShop
alkotók: Dalocsa Ági, Eke Kata,
Hortobágyi Gabriella

GlooGlooShop was founded in 2011, and its aim is to create and distribute artisan, unique trendy fashion jewellery and smaller accessories. Today the name refers to a team, namely, currently three girlfriends are creators of the products found in gloogloowebshop. I create jewellery from wire and minerals, though I occasionally give in to gorgeous paper, too. Kata (Kacat Műhely) is into recycling – she makes innovative home decor items. Gabi (eleirbag selyem) plays with colours: she paints silk scarves and mandalas. Our team is extraordinary in several respects: we are all mothers, wives and entrepreneurs. But the strongest connection is our love for the beautiful, sophisticated and to strive towards purity in human relationships.
2. Miért pont ezt az anyago(ka)t választottad?

Why did you choose these material(s)
in particular?
This is
purely accidental. I tried silver-plated jewellery wire once in the past and
immediately felt connected. Minerals are also an old love of mine, so I have
quite an impressive collection. Copper started to interest me recently, but our
friendship is not as close yet...
3. Mikor fedezted fel magadban a fogékonyságot, tehetséget?
Gondolom, erre a kézműves társadalom
nagyja azt válaszolja, amit én is tömören: már gyerekkoromban…
When did you realise you have talent?
I suppose the
majority gives the same answer to this one: when I was a child...
Bár erre a rácsodálkozásra
mostanában egyre kevesebb időm jut!
I try to
realise my own ideas, and I mostly get inspired by the beauties of the nature
or by music. Naturally Facebook and other artisan websites offer the
opportunity of having a peak into my fellow artists’ creations: a nice work or
a good idea provide inspiration and ignite my fantasy. Though I have less and
less time to marvel other people’s work.
5. Mi a "civil" foglalkozásod? ( = 10. Hobbi vagy
vállalkozás?)
Szerencsésnek érzem magam, hogy azt
csinálhatom, amit szeretek. Miután a GlooGlooShop, azaz maga az alkotás
illetőleg a webáruház üzemeltetése családi vállalkozásunk keretein belül
zajlik, így ez a civil foglalkozásom is.
What is your „civil” profession? =
Hobby or main source of income?
I consider
myself lucky, since I am able to do what I love. Since GlooGlooShop , i.e. creation itself and operating th webshop
is within the frame of family undertaking, this is also my civil profession.
6. Van még ezen kívül hobbid, kedvenc időtöltésed?

What do you do in your free time?
Since my
hobby is my job, this fills every minute of my day, apart from the family and
housekeeping. I like doing all creative phases of a job, since it comes from my
heart. But if I need to pinpoint some specific ones: I like taking trips with
my family, gardening, listening to music, making photos. I won’t claim I know
all the technical details of a camera, but success as a photographer is also
extremely important to me. It inspires me.
7. Hogy néz ki egy munkanapod? Mikor dolgozol?

What does your work process look like?
It is very
simple: I am always working! To be more specific, I am working when I can and
when I have to: sometimes I work at night, sometimes I work at dawn, sometimes
I work Sunday AM. I don’t have fix working hours, I am bound by orders and I
arrange things accordingly. I don’t have a separate room at the moment, but all
the tools and piled up materials are starting to fill in the space I have at my
disposal, so I am hoping to have a private, little workshop of my own.
8. Hogy néz ki egy munkafolyamat?

What does your work process look
like?
Either it
pops out of my head or is embodied in a drawing, for which I later search the
right mineral from my inventory. I like to make the jewellery in one go, I don’t
like leaving things unfinished, and rather meddle with them until they are
ready products. In the past years I have took several (ten) thousands photos of
products, so it does not present difficulty any more. The last phase of the
process is uploading the products to the webshop, and to be honest, this is the
one phase I do not appreciate much.
9. Mi a marketing stratégiád?

What is your marketing strategy?

Since our
products are available in a webshop, we are primarily focusing on online
marketing. One of its pillars is the newsletter. A few months earlier we elaborated
a programme called Hoppá!Hétfő
(something like Yay, it’s Monday! (comment by translator)), which offers one
product for half price every week. This offer is only for our VIP newsletter
subscribers Facebook is also an important tool. Here we can present our
novelties and creative processes to a wider audience. Sometimes we promote a
game (the prize for which is a product (comment by translator)), and sometimes
we promote our products and blog posts, too. We have also introduced questionnaires
in topics which would help in our work. These are also popularised on Facebook.
Our webshop platform includes a blog, too, through which our customers can get
to know us and our activities. In our more personal posts our customers may
gain insight into our everyday lives and in how our products are made, what we
do and why.
10. Mik a terveid a jövőre nézve?
Termékeink tekintetében a minőségre, a
vásárlókkal való kapcsolattartásban a gyors, korrekt, baráti párbeszédre
törekedtünk eddig, ezt az állapotot szeretnénk továbbra is megtartani, illetve
fejleszteni.

Természetesen távlati céljaink között
szerepel a gloogloowebshop.hu áruházunk minél szélesebb körben való
megismertetése. Ugyanakkor hiszünk abban, hogy a XXI. században is a
legfontosabb szerep a közvetlen kapcsolatoknak van, ezért fontosnak tartjuk
vásárlóink visszajelzését és a személyes találkozást. A webshop-os árusítás
mellett szeretnénk egyre több kisebb, közösségi szintű kézműves piacon is
megjelenni, ahol mi magunk, mint eladók vagyunk a “marketing”.
…és persze, ahogy nőnek a gyermekeink,
úgy szeretnénk majd nyitni a nagyvilág felé is!
Plans for the future?
With
respect to our products, we have been aiming at quality and a quick, fair and
friendly dialogue with our customers. We would like to keep it that way and
improve, of course. We would also like to gain a wider audience for our
webshop. At the same time, we believe direct contact remains equally important
in the 21th century, so the feedback from our customers and meeting them in
person is also important to us. We would therefore like to take part in more
artisan markets, where we ourselves are the “marketing”. And, naturally, as our
children grow, we would also like to grow internationally!
